How long have you been a photographer? I have been a photographer in the wedding industry for over 20 years.
Where do you work most? I work mostly in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan. I will travel south as far as Detroit, north to the Upper Peninsula, and any place on the planet that you would like to take me.
Why do you do what you do? I thoroughly enjoy the job I do. Any photography, especially wedding photography, is the best example of people at their most “real”. For me, weddings show the remaining hope and faith left in today’s times. And mostly, it’s just fun!
Why should I pick Paxton Photography? You should pick me because I will do everything in my power to make your day go as smoothly as possible. Two decades of experience in this industry has allowed me to see and know how to avoid or remedy any issues that may arise.
How many photographers will I have? For any package over 2 hours, there will be 2 of us at your event. If you would like to have additional photographers beyond the standard 2 of us; that can be arranged for an additional fee.
How many images are shot? Shooting time starts at our contracted time and continues throughout the entire event, up to our agreed upon end time. Every package includes an unlimited proof set. A typical 6 to 8 hour day, usually produces a minimum of 100 images per hour in your final proof set.
How much time do I need at my wedding? We will talk at length about your timeline and shot list to decipher what we will need for time, so there are no surprises. Typically, at least an hour before the event is a good time to start and allotting a good hour to an hour and a half between ceremony and reception should be enough to capture a solid day. Always be sure to think about drive time when planning.
How long does it take to get my images? Preview images will be posted to social media about 7 to 10 days after the event, online proofing will be available within 3 weeks, and your proof book and master USB drive will ship to you 6 to 8 weeks after the event.
Can I pick what goes in the proof book? The proof book includes everything that is in your proof set, exactly as you see it there. After the gallery is online, you have 10 days to make any omissions to that gallery. After that, there can be no changes made to the content of images included in gallery or in the proof book.
Is retouching included with the package? Basic retouching for color, contrast, and overall content is done to all of the images in the proof set. I will also include my version of creative techniques on a handful of the images, which will also be in your proof set. Extensive retouching is done, at your request and to your specifications, for all of your ordered finished prints or albums.
What is a Proof Set? The Proof Set is the images in your proof book, on your master USB drive, and in your online gallery.
Can I extend the life of my online gallery? Certainly, just send an email that you need more time. I can add additional time up to 6 months.
What are print equivalent sizes to a 5×7? An 8×10 equals 2 5×7 prints of your “included images’. An 11×14 equals 3, a 12×18 equals 4. If you want smaller images, 2 4×6 equal 1 5×7.
Is there a charge for travel out of town? Any location more than 75 miles away from the office is subject to an additional charge of $50 per each drive hour. If we are traveling more than 3 hours from the office, a national chain hotel room will be requested.
