Dean and Becky were married at Frog Pond Village on what turned out to be a cool, rainy, spring day.  We made the most of what we had and their love showed through it all.  These two had some fancy footwork for their first dance that put “Dancing With the Stars” to shame!

The weather changed it’s attitude the following day, so they put themselves back together, I did my best attempt at styling bridal hair, and we went out to play in the sun.

Kimberly & Derek were married at the Sequanota Club in Charlevoix, MI on a lovely, sunny May day, surrounded by their closest friends and family.  They designed their own custom wedding bands, had hand-made paper flowers, and a beautiful vista that perfectly matched their style.  This simple and easy event was officiated by Derek’s father and Kim’s hair and make-up was done by one of her bridesmaids.

May Sales 2015 2

One of my favorite times of the year is the week of cherry blossoms. Depending on when (yes, in Michigan is a very uncertain WHEN) spring actually begins, determines when the cherry blossoms are going to be the best. In past years, right around the middle of May has been when the trees are in full bloom. However, if spring comes early, they will peak in the first half of the month, if spring comes late, they will peak in the last half of the month. This year I would like to plan ahead and see what we can get scheduled in for family photos, engagement sittings, and child/baby shoots. Sooooo, for the ENTIRE month of May I will be running a special package for every sitting we do in a cherry orchard!!

Rick Wells is a great dog trainer in the Greater Grand Traverse region and is joining us as one of our on-staff trainers for the Traverse City area chapter of Pets for Vets (chapter opening soon).  Rick needed some updated business cards to really set him apart from the crowd.  I just love the tone and feel to these!

If you choose to open your heart and home to a dog, give Rick a call at (231)360-7297.  He will help your dog and you learn how to be a wonderful, attentive, and well-behaved companion.

Do you need to update your business cards or any other print material?  Give me a call at (231)883-9807 so we can start the design process to make your visual display products shine!  Mention this post and receive 10% off your first order!

March 17, 2015 – The hype was everywhere! They northern lights were supposed to be better than they have been for years! So I took a nap late in the day and planned to see amazing things in the wee hours of the morning. BUT . . . yes, there were northern lights, but really they were just regular old northern lights, nothing extra spectacular. Only a few fingers shooting here and there and a few shooting stars. The upside was that I got to test out my new Baffin snow boots that I have wanted for years and only splurged on buying at the end of winter this year. The boots did great, in fact in the 20 degree weather, while listening to the young (drunk on St. Patty’s Day) folks down the beach whining about being cold, I was toasty warm. I even had to open my jacket. Good Harbor beach on Lake Michigan was calm and dark. It was a beautiful night.

March 17, 2015 – Star Trails are my new obsession. I think I have it dialed in now. I found a software that compiles each of my frames together. I’m seeing that the more exposures I come back with the better and more prominent the trails are. These are 30 second exposures over 1 hour. I think I need to boost it up to 2 hours next time. Good thing warmer weather is coming!
