You’ve seen my little buddy James as he’s grown over the last few years.  He is kind of my spotlight kid.  As a very little boy he has always had a “thing” about him.  I think it is his eye contact, many children I photograph don’t engage with me the way this kid does.  I will stand tall on the mountain tops and tell you loudly that this speaks to the kind of parents he has.  Michele and Dave always get my vote for outstanding parenting.

James had a very special gift this past month.  He is now a big brother to Grady.  Welcome to the world, Grady!  I am so excited to see these boys grow together!

Soooo . . . . let’s talk about Michele’s new “big girl chair”.  She’s been wanting a new living room set for a while and I was so happy for her when I walked in and saw this fabulous chair and it’s matching accompaniments.  It’s so grown up and refined – no more extra-soft dog-couch (like mine, lol).  It is the best feeling to have a lovely living room to share with family and guests.  But you see, I fear for the life of the new chair, living in the midst of two small boys!  I do, however, wish I could hear the stories that chair will tell in 10 years.  Stories of growing boys and a happy family!

I am so excited for Sarah and Dustin’s wedding next June!  These two have wonderfully easy personalities that makes it so apparent how in love they are!  We met at my “office” (a.k.a. picnic table at the beach) to discuss wedding details and watched a fog bank roll into Glen Haven.  Michigan weather is so weird some days.  We started with foggy beach photos and then went a mile up the road to the DH Day barns, where there was no fog (yup, a mile away is completely different weather) and we had some glorious summer sun to play in.

I always love seeing the Herman family!  I’ve gotten to see the girls grow from little girls to young ladies.  Grandma and Grandpa are as spunky as ever and everyone seems to be happy and doing well!  And Justine, let’s talk about this young man you have!!  He seems like a great dude!  Maybe we’ll see something shiny for your left hand in the future?  LOL – no pressure!

Grandma bought a cute dress and nice shirt for these two fun kids to have photos on the beach with their parents.  For the age gap between the two children, they were wonderful together!  Total hams!!

Collen and Sean had all the best details for their farm wedding at the East Jordan Event Barn.  They had great summer weather and a smooth day.  We saw tears from Sean as Colleen walked down the aisle, escorted by her son.  She was stunning in her dress that shimmered pale pink in certain light.

They had ordered and old Apache truck for a photo prop but it had to back out, having lost the fuel pump that day.  Of course, needing no extra reason to drive my ’64, I rolled in with a backup.  Funny thing is they ended up with two old trucks.  Sean’s dad spotted a little red Ford on the way to the wedding and convinced the lady to stop by for a bit.  #truckpeoplelovetoshowoff

Kristy and Vince and a fantastic summer wedding day on the Island Thyme patio.  These two truly wonderful people, had summer sunshine, a lovey catch phrase between themselves, a dog as a best man, fireworks, sparklers, a stellar band,  AND a s’mores bar!  There is nothing else that could have made the day any better.  Oh, wait, Allison’s puppy thought he needed to walk down the aisle, too – that was pretty funny.  And then there is their custom wedding bands that were just out of this world – complete with engravings of water and earth for Vince and coffee and flatware for Kristy.  AND let’s take a second to send a shout out the ENTIRE Tomczak family, including Dad, all the siblings (how many – 10 of you?), and all the nieces and nephews.

We updated Matt’s head shots for some new business he’ll be getting in to.  I’m still laughing that he was wearing shorts with that jacket.  It makes me really wonder what the news casters wear behind the desk. . .  because you’d never know.

My little buddy Blake really doesn’t understand what is coming his way VERY soon – – – a SISTER!  He has had the unwavering attention of his wonderful parents for almost 2 years now.  And I must mention that he might have turbo boosters in his shoes!  He is a very happy (and speedy) little boy.  I am so excited to meet little sister in the near future!  I know she will be just as happy a little doll as her big brother!

I had the pleasure of spending the day at the downtown Traverse City Real Estate One office for the day for headshots in the office.

These guys!!  I got to play with these two dolls for a while the other night at one of the park service properties over in Glen Arbor.  The brains of children always crack me up!  Presley asked who’s house we were at.  “Uncle Sam’s house”, I exclaimed.  The exchange from there made me chuckle.  “Who is Uncle Sam?”  “The man who takes our taxes, that’s why we get to use his house.”  “Why does he take our money?”  I figured to let it be a that point.  Funny stuff though!
