Would you guess that this is a January day in Northern Michigan?  Where did the snow go?  It may look like an unseasonably warm winter day, but it was not.  It was 100% winter temperatures.  We had a big January thaw the week before and of course, the week after we got bunches more snow.

This fun young lady opted to have her horse join her for her high school senior photos.  I really do love when the kids include things (or beasts) that make them happy.

Dona and Randy joined their families on the beach at The Homestead in Glen Arbor.  We had a little rain but that was a completely acceptable trade off for what the sky offered us.  Look at those rays!!

Oh my goodness!  This family!  Everybody came together for a vacation up north with the most precious little doll.  This may be the happiest child I have seen in a while.  The entire time was nothing but smiles and giggles!

It was so nice to see the Drake family back this year.  I think we figured out that it’s been 6 years since we did family photos last time.  Little miss Harper is now a lovely young lady and has a little brother who keeps her on her toes.  I can’t wait to see how big these wonderful kids will be next time!  It always surprises me how fast time goes!

Nate and Kathleen will be getting married next fall in Traverse City.  Tessa, their Golden Retriever,  joined us for engagement photos and was a super good girl.  Yes, that is miss Tessa dog rocking out a Michigan State team jersey!

These two lovely ladies shared their vows in the vines of Shady Lane Cellars among their closest family and friends.  The ceremony was read in both English and French and Bene’s family joined us all the way from her homeland of France.  Their wedding party joined us for a champagne toast up the road at L.Mawby and we took a quick trip to Suttons Bay Ciders.  The joy among these two was so fun to witness!

Chris and Paula had a wonderful Leelanau County wedding at the Homestead in Glen Arbor.  We had a glorious first look on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, a spectacular ceremony on top of the mountain overlooking that beach, and a party to beat all parties at Mountain Flowers Lodge.

Beautiful Gaby and handsome Nick were in town for his brother’s wedding (coming soon) and had recently gotten engaged.  So they opted to do some engagement photos while they were here.  They braved the 45 degree weather and took the walk up to Pierce Stocking’s #9 vista, that gave us views of the magnificent Lake Michigan as well as Big and Little Glen Lakes.  I had hoped to give them a glorious Michigan October sunset, but with all the rain we have had, we just got to enjoy the water view.  They’ll be having a Civil ceremony in Florida in December and then a destination wedding in the Dominican Republic next August.  Congratulations Gaby and Nick!

Stacey and Troy braved the wet weekend to have their engagement photos done.  We had beautiful moody fall skies and even had a hint of blue showing every now and then.
