In the time I had with this family, there was something that stood out.  Humor.  In their children and their children’s children, I could see both Karen and Charlie.  I could see the loving overseeing of Karen to make sure everyone had what they needed and the subtle poking from Charlie to get them to smile.  It was all easy and second nature.  Blessed is the man who has all these people to join him for an 80th birthday party.  Even more blessed is the man who leaves a lasting impact on who these people are.
