Nicole and Doug will be married this coming summer.  We played out on Old Mission peninsula among nature’s wonderful views for their engagement photos.  These two are going to be so much fun for their wedding!

Nate and Kathleen will be getting married next fall in Traverse City.  Tessa, their Golden Retriever,  joined us for engagement photos and was a super good girl.  Yes, that is miss Tessa dog rocking out a Michigan State team jersey!

Amy and Joe will be married this fall.  After a few days of being rained out, we all finally made it to Alpena for their engagement photos.  Sure, Alpena is quite a hike, especially in the heart of the busiest month of the year, but this town means so much to these two; it was worth the wait and the drive.

These two love birds and their dog-boy Rogan, will be getting married later this year.  They are a brave pair. Even with looming clouds and rain, they braved the potential weather to play on a Northern Michigan beach.  We ran around downtown Charlevoix for a while and then went to the beach on the north side of town to let Rogan have a little run time.  It was like watching the wind run – – that dog is fast!

Laura and Drew will be married at Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay this August.  We had a fun winter’s day for their engagement photos.  We started at Hop Lot Brewery and then stopped in at Black Star Farms and then traveled to the beach.  Yes, the beach!  It was chilly, but nice and calm for a February afternoon.  I really look forward to spending more time with them in August!

Marcy and Stan will be getting married this coming September.  They came up from many hours away to visit with wedding vendors and do some engagement photos.  It was a beautiful November day, considering it was November, but man was it windy!  I had so hoped that I could show them a lovely lake shore for their sitting but the winds were just too much so we headed back toward town and used the calmer grounds at the Commons.

I spend every work day participating in and documenting other people’s lives and it isn’t very often that I get to play that role with my own family and friend’s.   It was such a pleasure working with Jesse and Liz on their engagement photos.  As a family, we helped Jesse propose from a helicopter last month!  It’s been so much fun being a part of this side of things!

Beautiful Gaby and handsome Nick were in town for his brother’s wedding (coming soon) and had recently gotten engaged.  So they opted to do some engagement photos while they were here.  They braved the 45 degree weather and took the walk up to Pierce Stocking’s #9 vista, that gave us views of the magnificent Lake Michigan as well as Big and Little Glen Lakes.  I had hoped to give them a glorious Michigan October sunset, but with all the rain we have had, we just got to enjoy the water view.  They’ll be having a Civil ceremony in Florida in December and then a destination wedding in the Dominican Republic next August.  Congratulations Gaby and Nick!

Stacey and Troy braved the wet weekend to have their engagement photos done.  We had beautiful moody fall skies and even had a hint of blue showing every now and then.

Erica and Tony are getting married next July at Castle Farms in beautiful Charlevoix.  We used the woods, lake and surrounding area at their cabin in Alba for their engagement photos.  It was a gorgeous late summer evening with a golden sun that set early.  This is my favorite time of year; when late afternoon and early evening blend together with beautiful rich color and comfortable temperatures.
