Family reunions are always a mixed bag of emotions for me.  I love seeing families come together and spend time as a big unit.  There really is no one else who can understand where you come from, other than siblings and cousins.  They know inside jokes, they know specific humors and personality quirks, they process the world much like you do.  Getting together with them over years and across decades as we age, always seems to be just like the first time we can remember, as children.  Fun.  Easy and relaxed.  The problem with this, is we forget to make time for our people in between reunions and life happens.  We gain new people, and lose some.  But that is why we do reunions, so even if we are missing people, we all still remember.  That is the important stuff.
