Welcome to the family, Chunk! My Mom and Sister picked up this handsome little guy on Friday. He is an 8 week old Cattle Dog. I’m not sure if you have ever met a Cattle Dog. If not, there is a very special trait that you should know about. Their bark. The bark on this fella is like, if fingernails on a chalkboard were a being, it would run scared from the sound. He’s a lucky boy to have a family that appreciates his . . . special singing voice.
Why is he looking the direction he is? Well, because I’m planning for the future. Puppies change so much in the first year of life. They grow so fast and even their overall colors shift and change. So with every puppy sitting, I’m going to plan this setup – where the puppy can look up at his full grown self in a year or so. The changes will be so fun to see. Stay tuned for next year’s Chunk!
I did a little testing with my new studio things and background that I got for Christmas. I am really quite pleased with the outcome. Of course, my best test subjects only work for a handful of treats. Hopefully, I will have more time this month to do some further experimenting.
There is nothing better than the first few days after you pick up your new best friend. When they are just weeks old, you have to figure out their habits, their routines, and their personality. Honestly, I expected Lukka, the Akita baby to be spunky but he sat like a little doll. I can’t wait to have him back to sit on those boxes in a few months when he is pushing his 90+ pounds of full sizeness – – it’s going to be hilarious! But, that face!!!
And then there is Ziggy Stardust . . . this little dude is the size of my fist with a serious attitude of full-speed-ahead-play.
I got to spend a few hours on the farm with Pam, Steve, the Boys, and Steve’s awesome old truck to create some new photos for the French Valley Vineyard website and sales collateral.
And yup, that is a dog in a hat.

I finally got the new website done! I am really excited about this one! I have been afraid of learning WordPress for years because I thought it had to do with code and learning a bunch of super hard stuff. Annoyingly, it was a lot of work, but not as hard of work as I had expected. I should have learned this years ago! Dummy me!! I hope you like it!
