Dan & Lisl | Vow Renewal

30 years.  Thirty years before you’re thirty seems like an eternity.  All the years after thirty seem like the blink of an eye.  And every moment in those years is important in the story.  For better and for worse.  For richer and for poorer.  In sickness and in health.  Thirty years of marriage, filled with all the things; careers, homes, children,  great success and the occasional struggle, come back to one thing.  One person.  One wonderfully right choice.  Back to when it was just a boy trying to not lose a ring in the snow and a girl that said yes on a snowy pier.

Dan and Lisl have done just this.  They chose the right person and made a beautiful life together.  With their three impressive, kind, and caring children, they celebrated thirty years of marriage on the same shore that Dan proposed to Lisl at all those years ago.  Back when we got winter in the winter around here.

For this day, this family experience, Lisl pulled out her wedding dress (everybody note that she still fit that gown) and met the family on the lake shore that was so important to their origin story, to again, exchange vows with Dan.  Dan has FTD and ALS.  Dan is the kind of guy that laughs the entire way to the beach while holding on to his wheeled walker.  The kind of man that loves his family above all.  The kind of man that even when not at his strongest point in life, reaffirms himself to his wife.  Dan is the kind of man we look to for guidance and grace in things that life sometimes throws our way.

Wish Upon a Wedding made this all happen.  This was their 250th event.  It was a pleasure and an honor to participate in this experience.
