This is Hazel, the new office mascot.  Her mom was sent to a rescue in Wisconsin from Hazard, Kentucky.  Maybe we should have named her Daisy Duke but I didn’t read the paperwork on her mom until after we named her.  I had to laugh after I found out where she really came from.  Since she flies . . . like the General Lee jumping ponds in the Dukes of Hazard (favorite show as a kid) and running from the law!  She cracks me up.

I’ve committed to a personal project with Hazel for the year.  I didn’t try this with the other two girls and am really excited about it.  I will be doing one photo every week of her in the same studio location.  52 photos of a year’s growth.  I’m three weeks in and there are some interesting learning curves and marked improvement in how she sits for the camera.  She may be learning faster than me.

From the light rains of spring, to bright sunlit summer-drenched beaches, through the early-darkening of fall, and on to the crispness of winter; this year has been beyond spectacular!  Thank you, to each and every one of you who supports me and makes all of my days at work absolutely enjoyable.

Erika has joined the team at Real Estate One in Traverse City.  I wish her the best on this new business adventure.  I’m certain she’s going to be a great local realtor!  Everybody pease give her a warm welcome!!

Sarah asked, I said yes.  I had no idea what I was getting into, I suppose neither did she, since we pretty much used the whole day.  And it was a day of many laughs, much goofiness, and some seagull bombings.  I got to play with some of my new studio things and ideas and then we progressed to a dark alleyway downtown.  Siri Salonen from Siri Salonen Photography came downtown to hang with us, too.  It’s so rare that I get to go play with other photographers, but when I do it reminds me how much I love this community of creative people around here.  So supportive!  So much fun!  And just really great people!

The crew at Village Press in Traverse City are redoing their website and including some great ideas for their team’s “about me” profiles.  They are including a series of 3 photos for each person.  They have a proper head shot, a funny face personality shot, and then a prop shot.  The prop shots cracked me up!  These personalities really came to life!  Some of the others were great too, they included hockey sticks, Mountain Dew bottles, books, small children, and bicycle crash helmets.  Quite the diverse group of folks!

We had a great training day with Dan and the crew at Amazing Day Weddings!  The team has four new faces to provide you with a great wedding officiant anywhere in Northern Michigan.
