Welcome to the family, Chunk!  My Mom and Sister picked up this handsome little guy on Friday.  He is an 8 week old Cattle Dog.  I’m not sure if you have ever met a Cattle Dog.  If not, there is a very special trait that you should know about.  Their bark.  The bark on this fella is like, if fingernails on a chalkboard were a being, it would run scared from the sound.  He’s a lucky boy to have a family that appreciates his . . . special singing voice.

Why is he looking the direction he is?  Well, because I’m planning for the future.  Puppies change so much in the first year of life.  They grow so fast and even their overall colors shift and change.  So with every puppy sitting, I’m going to plan this setup – where the puppy can look up at his full grown self in a year or so.  The changes will be so fun to see.  Stay tuned for next year’s Chunk!

Would you guess that this is a January day in Northern Michigan?  Where did the snow go?  It may look like an unseasonably warm winter day, but it was not.  It was 100% winter temperatures.  We had a big January thaw the week before and of course, the week after we got bunches more snow.

Bethany and Justin will be married in early fall of this coming year.  We tried for fall engagement photos up north, but the weather did not cooperate and the trees dropped all of their color in a wind storm.  So went searching for something fallish.  Bethany found a park option in Mt. Pleasant.  It was a really cool spot; with a river, woods, and the cutest covered bridge. Indy seemed to enjoy the time cruising around in the woods, too.

Leah and Ben will be married this coming year.  We were lucky enough to catch some beautiful fall weather for engagement photos around town.  And even more lucky to catch this other cute little guy doing his cute-guy thing; good boy!

These two love birds and their dog-boy Rogan, will be getting married later this year.  They are a brave pair. Even with looming clouds and rain, they braved the potential weather to play on a Northern Michigan beach.  We ran around downtown Charlevoix for a while and then went to the beach on the north side of town to let Rogan have a little run time.  It was like watching the wind run – – that dog is fast!
