Allison and Ryan had a mild fall day for a wedding in Queens Courtyard at beautiful Castle Farms in Charlevoix.  Emotions ran high in anticipation of walking down the aisle, and as soon as Ryan saw his bride, the world melted away – tears flowed and smiles were easy to come by.

Michelle and Eddie had a lovely church wedding in Charlevoix filled with emotion.  From there, we were able to run around downtown and then move on to Castle Farms for the reception.  We had a wonderful mild Fall evening to go play in the night.  I love Fall days like this.

Oh, my dear rain, I’ve had quite enough of you!  Maicie and Ken’s wedding day was a wet one!  Despite the weather, Maicie chose to have the wedding outside (with the help of many umbrellas) at Castle Farms in Charlevoix.

We began the day with a first look along the shores of Lake Michigan under clam winds and heavy cloud cover.  From there we traveled to Castle Farms for a ceremony in Queens Courtyard.  I certainly had a case of soggy boots, but it was a beautiful wedding anyhow!

Monika and Josh had a wonderful sunny day for a wedding at Castle Farms in the Knights Courtyard.  She chose stunning colors of teal, accented by pink and white, to adorn an already beautiful location.  Oh, and the classic Mustang was thrown in just for a little extra fun!

Some people weep at the idea of rain on their wedding day.  Sara?  At the sight of not just rain, but sideways rain . . .  Well, she listens to my educated-by-NOAH-radar ramblings, grabs an umbrella, and says, “I’ll take the adventure, let’s do this, let’s go to the lighthouse for our first look”.  So we did.  We arrived at the Northport point lighthouse in slight drizzle, and as they walked toward each other, the rain stopped.  And this wouldn’t be the only weather-blessing of the day.

We had a church wedding where the rains returned and I promised the pastor that there would be sun yet.  Of course he didn’t believe me.  But as we finished up family photos, a glorious ray of sun shone through the stained glass, letting us know that my faith was rewarded and it was time to play outside!

We were able to get in about an hour of outside photos at the marina and surrounding areas.  With all intentions of walking the few blocks to reception, Luke and Sara were met with a wall of rain that resembled something out of an epic thriller movie.  Of course I couldn’t let them walk in that and we all scrambled into the Jeep.  I admit, this is rather embarrassing.  I’m in the Jeep for a better part of 30 hours a week.  It is not clean.  In fact, you could knit a sweater with the amount of dog hair and likely buy a nice dinner out with the number of returnable cans on my floor!  I guess that will go on my self-changing list of things to focus on being better at in the future!

We closed out the day under the lovely roof of the Willowbrook Mill event hall, complete with a fire in the fireplace and a family serenade to the bride and groom.  A fabulous day for two fabulous people!

Stephanie and Robert had a lovely Castle Farms wedding in the Queens Courtyard on a beautiful late summer day.  I loved how Stephanie’s choice of royal purple and grey tones complimented the Castle’s stonework and architecture.

Pete and Beth were married at noon among their closest friends and family with a Hawaiian theme to their day.  We many not be on island time here, but West Grand Traverse Bay sure comes in a close second!  The theme was topped off with the phrase “I Lava You”, which comes from a cute song about the volcanic islands forming.

Rachael and Jeremy had a lovely summer afternoon wedding at the Park Shore Hotel in Traverse City.  Her grandfather walked her down the aisle and their son delivered the rings.  It was a wonderful family event that left everyone smiling.

Amelia and Zach lucked out with the weather!  It was threatening a CRAZY storm for the entire day but it was dry through their wedding ceremony, through their photo time, and didn’t really start raining until we went in for the breakfast brunch reception.  Of which at that point it rained buckets!  Amelia said she prayed for good weather, only asking for it to not be wet until photos were done, which was answered absolutely on time.  Reception was at 1, it rained at 1.  How often does that happen???

This couple had a beautiful morning on the beach for a first look at the Homestead in Glen Arbor.  Their were then joined by their closest family and children for a ceremony at the top of the mountain.  I love these small weddings that are just about family.
