What’s faster than a two year old? A two year old on a bicycle! Wyatt is growing so fast and is a very happy little guy. After we dragged his attention from his bike, he really enjoyed watching the big tractor drive back and forth at the Commons. The driver was even nice enough to wave back!

Stephanie and Michael had an intimate ceremony at the Old Settlers Park Chapel in Glen Arbor and had great fall colors for their day. We made a stop at the Commons and then were off to a lovely reception at the Top of the Park at the Park Place Hotel in Traverse City.
Rachael and Jeremy had a lovely summer afternoon wedding at the Park Shore Hotel in Traverse City. Her grandfather walked her down the aisle and their son delivered the rings. It was a wonderful family event that left everyone smiling.
Sarah and Jeff had a day of many colors. We started out with a major rain storm, but as the day progressed the sky opened up to glorious rays of sunshine for Sarah to walk down the aisle to. Mother nature had quite the sense of humor for the day. Just as we got done with the ceremony, the sky had to give us one more little shower and then smiled on us and gave a lovely Northern Michigan summer evening.

I was asked by Courtney Curtis from TV7&4’s Up North Live to answer some questions about the hot-button point of whether or not to host your wedding as “unplugged” or not. Truth be told, it was terrifying! I spend so many hours behind a camera that I totally forget what it is like to be IN FRONT of the camera. I used the experience to remind myself how each of my clients feel at sessions.
The funniest part of the whole experience is Courtney reassuring my reservations about how I did with, “you did great, you’re all trendy and sounded fine”. After she left, my Boyfriend’s 12 year old, Xander, says, “I think that lady was confused. I think she meant crafty, not trendy. Cause trendy really isn’t you”. True that, kid, true that!

Pictures are moments that can last a lifetime but are there certain moments where the cameras need to be put away?
Thanks to technology, basically everyone has a camera at their disposal and – especially on someone’s big day – you want to capture those moments so you don’t forget them.

I had the pleasure of spending the day at the downtown Traverse City Real Estate One office for the day for headshots in the office.
Twins are my favorite! And these two little bugs were fantastic! Their silly faces kinda stole the show!
And the award goes to . . . seriously, this group! The children were so well behaved, the fun-loving connection between all six of them was just wonderful, and the ease and joy of all involved made me so happy to be a part of their story.
It was a day that threatened rain, but we had perfect timing. We started with a first look on the beach, traveled to Krista’s family beach, stopped and played in a vineyard and then went for a ceremony in yard of the Boathouse on Old Mission peninsula. We made it through all of the outside things that were planned, with perfect weather. It wasn’t until we got in the car to leave that the rain came.
Excellent day, with happy people and flawless timing; there is nothing else I can ask for.
My gorgeous friend Michele is pregnant with her second baby. I asked her to let me take some maternity photos of her this time around, since she didn’t do it with the first baby. We used a friend’s cherry orchard, in full bloom, on Old Mission peninsula in the evening so I could test out some new equipment. I am so happy with how beautiful she looks among the evening light on the trees. I can’t wait to meet this little belly bundle in about a month!
